Ed Eger, President and Chief Executive Officer

Edmond Eger III is the President and Chief Executive Officer of OANDA Corporation, a recognized global leader in data, trading, and B2B cross-border settlements and payments. OANDA has processed billions of real-money transactions, and is used by hundreds of thousands of worldwide partners, including numerous Fortune 500 companies, the big four accounting firms, the IRS and its equivalents around the world. In his role as CEO, Mr. Eger draws on his extensive international experiences in e-commerce, financial technology, leadership management, global branding, and risk management. Prior to joining OANDA in 2013, Mr. Eger served as a member of the leadership team at PayPal where he was the SVP and General Manager of the Americas, their largest business unit. In this role, Mr. Eger was responsible for establishing PayPal as the preferred online payment method for consumers and merchants for markets across North and South America.

Prior to joining PayPal, Mr. Eger led a number of payments and financial services businesses in North America, Asia, Europe, and Latin America. Mr. Eger was with Citigroup from 1999 to 2009, and last served as the Chief Executive Officer of their international cards business, where he was responsible for an organization that spanned 50 countries and served more than 40 million customers worldwide. While at Citigroup, he held positions across the globe, including Australia, Singapore and New York. Mr. Eger’s prior experiences include business management positions within Advanta, Standard Chartered Bank, Wells Fargo Bank, and McKinsey & Company.

Mr. Eger is a native of San Francisco, where he currently resides, and was a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Claremont McKenna College, where he earned magna cum laude degree in economics and mathematics. He received his MBA from Harvard Business School. Mr. Eger currently serves on the board of Manhattan Associates (NASDAQ-MANH), a provider of market leading technologies for supply chain and omni-channel commerce. Until it was sold to Siris Capital in early 2015, he served on the board of directors of Digital River (NASDAQ-DRIV), a e-commerce and payments provider. He has been active on several non-profit boards and is heavily involved with City Year San Jose/Silicon Valley.
