RSX was the first Russia-focused ETF on the market, and it still enjoys first-mover status in the form of excellent size and liquidity. Still, RSX doesn't look like what we consider the Russian market. It is eligible to hold Russian companies incorporated and/or listed overseas, giving it a wider scope than our MSCI benchmark. The fund is also less top-heavy than our benchmark, limiting its exposure to giant energy firms. This approach produces a more diverse basket that’s still plenty concentrated.The fund enjoys a very large asset base and brisk liquidity. Holding costs are typically higher than its competitive fee, but the fund still makes the Opportunities List for its more diversified take on the market in a large and liquid package.
