FXP: Capture OANDA rates directly (C or Perl libraries available)
FXP (FXProtocol) is a simple automatic way of retrieving currency rates over the Internet. FXP utilizes a request-send model similar to HTTP. It allows users to capture “raw” data from OANDA servers for inclusion into the clients FX applications. Users can receive single conversion or time series data for rates back to 1990 on 164 FX instruments.
FXP is ideal for e-commerce sites to localize prices on products and services in on-line catalogues automatically and on-the-fly. Companies may also use FXP for back-office applications, such as accounting, expense management, procurement, invoicing, etc.

- FXP Client Package: is a software package that contains a library of routines written in C which will contact an FXP server and convert currencies.
- FXP Perl Package: is a Perl client package that uses FXP to conduct currency exchange routines using Perl language.
How to Subscribe to FXP?
- FXP is available for $1,000 USD/month. On-line subscription for FXP is available.
- Register to open an account (if you already have an OANDA account, you may use the same login information to subscribe to FXP)
- Subscribe to FXP on-line and download the FXP client software or FXP Perl package.
