Senior Tax Analyst, Toronto

Description

OANDA is seeking a Senior Tax Analyst to join its tax team. This individual will primarily assist in the research, analysis, and reporting of global tax matters.

What You’ll Do:

  • Preparing transaction tax (sales/use, business & occupation, gross receipts, and property tax) returns for monthly, quarterly and annual filings
  • Aid in developing and documenting tax processes and controls including research and implementation of new tax guidance
  • Prepare and manage annual 1099 / 1042 filing process
  • Prepare and manage unclaimed property tax reports
  • Prepare and manage FATCA and Common Reporting Standard annual filings
  • Prepare and manage international tax filings and projects including quarterly GST returns and transfer pricing
  • Prepare journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and flux analysis at month-end close for sales and franchise tax accounts
  • Support annual audit requirements related to specific areas of responsibility including tax provision preparation, ASC 740-10 and FAS 5 reserve process and documentation
  • Assist with tax examinations of domestic and international tax returns
  • Assist with other projects within the Tax Department as required.
  • Work effectively with the members of Accounting, Finance, Legal and other groups to complete objectives.

                                                                                                                                                 

Requirements

What We Seek:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field
  • 3-5 years of past Tax experience, Public accounting background a plus
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. tax reporting requirements
  • Experience with tax reporting requirements in certain non-U.S. jurisdictions including Canada, UK, Singapore and Australia
  • Basic knowledge of ASC 740
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment
  • Proactive on identifying and resolving issues
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Strong computer knowledge (MS Word, Excel)
