Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, the Manager of Funding Engineering will be responsible for the design and development of OANDA’s funding technology platforms, services and interfaces.
The Funding Engineering is responsible for the integration with payment providers, allowing customers to deposit, withdraw and transfer funds. Funding applications and services are used by hundreds of thousands of users a day on desktop and mobile devices worldwide.
You will work with Managers and Leads from other Engineering departments, as well as with heads of Businesses and key stakeholders (Product, Compliance, Customer services, etc.) to develop manageable strategies for our Funding services, capabilities and integrations, worldwide, and ensure initiative milestones are met, while bringing efficiencies and supporting the implementations.
Funding Engineering is a department of Agile teams in multiple locations with full-stack, frontend and backend engineers focused on constantly improving the funding experience for clients and reporting tools for internal teams.

Responsibilities● Lead and manage multiple development teams in multiple locations.● Ownership of a significant portion of OANDA’s technical estate, ensuring that it’s developedwith a high level of quality, security and reliability. Continually evolve the process of deliveryto improve the pace and confidence of releasing value to end users.● Work with the engineering management team to define and implement best practice,standards and policies across the department.● Work closely with OANDA’s business and technical leadership to understand business.● Ensure system key performance and service level indicators are measured and reportedon, recommending pre-emptive changes to ensure targets are continually met, and anappropriate incident response procedure is maintained.● Take the lead on technical projects and resolution of complex issues where appropriate,consulting with project/product managers to ensure roadmaps and status are accurate.● Collaborate with product managers and other teams in defining new features and productofferings. Keep abreast of new technologies, assessing how they can be applied to solve problemsacross engineering teams. Share knowledge and learnings from trial and adoption of newtechnology through the engineering guilds.● Keep skill sets within teams relevant and aligned to the business strategy through adoptinga range of resourcing options to meet evolving demands, such as hiring, training,contracting and outsourcing.● Bring a broad perspective to problem solving and solutions that aid decision making anddelivery, including a commercial view and understanding of the wider business objectives.● Collaborate with team leads and stakeholders to gather and define requirements● Coach team leads to get the best out of their team and meet the expectations ofstakeholders. Give timely and meaningful feedback that enables continual improvement.
Qualifications● Experience managing development teams, with a proven track record of delivery and theability to identify and cultivate rising talent.● Solid knowledge of software engineering best practices and design patterns.● Proven ability to innovate in ways that contribute to the success of the business
