Junior Sales Account Executive, Sydney

How do we work? 

In our global Sales Outbound Team we are responsible for acquisition of new OANDA's Clients via phone, e-mail and text messages - we identify potential Clients, provide daily services to them, build up positive relationships and closing deals.

Sales experience in the financial industry is not necessary as training will be provided. This is a unique chance to build key transferable skills in the financial space, with plenty of growth and development opportunities available at OANDA.

You will also have an opportunity to travel to attend events and meet clients or partners in Australia and the APAC region.

We work in a hybrid model - we'd love to meet you in the Sydney CBD office from time to time with respect to your own commitments. This role requires flexibility to work in 8-hours shifts between 9am and 8pm Monday - Friday.


  • Manage incoming applications and identify conversion opportunities, and turn prospective warm leads into new traders by providing services and making outbound phone calls and/or emails
  • Keep up-to-date with the markets and give clients general markets overview in a compliant manner
  • Facilitate introductions to Relationship Managers where appropriate
  • Communicate marketing promotions to new OANDA clients
  • Provide information about the OANDA’s various platforms and its features
  • Build and develop client relationships 
  • Follow industry news about competitors’ products and services and share within the team
  • Cooperating with internal teams to drive smooth client onboarding experience and to resolve client queries and/or expectations
  • Assist with seminars, webinars and client events if required.


  • Passion and desire to work in sales.
  • Show determination and tenacity in achieving and exceeding goals, always seeking opportunities for new business.
  • 1-year experience and a good understanding of trading and financial markets is a plus.
  • Previous experience in FX, CFD industry is a plus
  • Mandarin or Cantonese language fluency is a plus
  • Adaptable problem solver, looking for alternative solutions.
  • Very good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to grasp complex concepts quickly. 
  • Flexibility to attend the international traders fairs/events mainly in the ASEAN region (once or twice a year).
