Letter from Singapore
I joined OANDA in 2010, having worked at Citibank for many years. My last role at Citi was as global head of FX sales to banks and broker dealers.
OANDA was my client at Citibank. They stood out among their competitors for their unique ideas about currency trading and the high degree of automation they bring to the business. I was excited to join OANDA because it offered me a chance to experience something completely different from working in a large bank.
The OANDA difference
OANDA strives to provide a fair and transparent platform to clients, and to provide training and tools to enable clients to trade successfully.
In Asia Pacific we offer clients a suite of training programmes, ranging from basic platform instruction to trading risk-management strategies. We engage with local universities to deliver our fxUNI forex training programme, designed to educate students about the complexities of currency markets and trading.
Our clients choose OANDA for the same reasons traders the world over choose us: for OANDA’s narrow spreads, robust platform, and responsive customer service people who know how to troubleshoot in multiple languages.
I’ve never felt a burning need to blog or tweet before now. Yet OANDA has offered me the opportunity to share some of my business experiences in a public forum aimed at people interested in currency trading.
That to me is an offer I’m compelled to accept—though I promise to blog only when I have something insightful to say!
