Illuminating the darkness of retail forex
I’m K. I am the CEO and Managing Director for OANDA Asia Pacific, based in Singapore. I was born in Ghana, did my degree in the UK, and completed my MBA at UCLA. I joined OANDA after almost a decade at Deutsche Bank, where I headed the bank’s eFX business in Asia Pacific.
OANDA presented a fresh, unique set of challenges that I knew I wanted to help tackle. When the opportunity to build a brand-new subsidiary in Asia Pacific came knocking, I couldn’t say no. Here was a company with, I dare say, the very best product in the marketplace—a company that dared to challenge the status quo and one that could truly create an entirely new playing field in the forex market.
To that end, we operate with a consistent set of principles at OANDA:

My own personal mantra has always been this: Lead by example in an honest way to build a business that will last. At OANDA, our greatest source of pride is our reputation for integrity. We aim to provide all our clients with a flawless and rewarding experience, and we rally our efforts and work hard to maintain that high level of trust and understanding. We hire only the brightest and most ethical people, whom we help develop and then encourage to achieve things they never though possible.
